지난 3월 22일, 전세계의 디자이너가 한자리에 모인 아시아 디자인 프라이즈 2024 시상식이 성황리에 막을 내렸다. 디자인소리가 주최, 주관한 이번 시상식은 카타르, 싱가포르, 일본, 중국 등 전 세계에서 150여 명의 관계자들이 참석했다. 수상자 중 외국인 비율이 50%에 달하는 등 국제공모전으로서의 명성을 더욱 공고히 했으며, 디자이너들의 활발한 교류로 글로벌 디자인 커넥팅 장의 면모를 보였다.
The Asia Design Prize ceremony began with a DJ show by the famous Japanese architect Tetsuya Matsumoto and a standing wine party. The forum featured lectures by Jeon Woosung, the author of the bestseller "That's Why Branding Is Necessary"; Professor Choi Jongwoo, a former McLaren industrial designer (Hanyang University); Kim Joohwang, the representative of Design Studio Layer; and Professor Kim Hyunsun from Hongik University's IDAS, providing great inspiration to the attendees.
아시아 디자인 프라이즈 시상식은 일본의 유명 건축가 테츠야 마츠모토의 디제잉쇼와 스탠딩 와인 파티로 시작되었다. 베스트셀러 ‘그래서 브랜딩이 필요합니다’의 저자 전우성 대표, 맥라렌 출신 산업 디자이너 최종우 교수(한양 대학교), 디자인 스튜디오 레이어 김주황 대표, 그리고 홍익대학교 IDAS 김현선 교수의 강연으로 포럼이 구성되어 참석자들에게 큰 영감을 주었다.
American Standard was selected as this year's top honor, "Design of the Year," and brightened the award ceremony with their attendance from Singapore to Seoul. Professor Kim Nando from Seoul National University was chosen as the "Judge's Choice" in the non-exhibition category. He was honored with the Asia Design Prize, Judges' Award, in recognition of the impact he has made on the design world through his annual publication, "Trend Korea."
아메리칸 스탠다드가 이번 년도 최고상인 '디자인 오브 더 이어'로 선정되었으며, 싱가포르에서 서울까지 참석해 시상식을 빛냈다. 서울대학교의 김난도 교수가 비출품 분야에서 '저지스 초이스'로 선정되었다. 매년 발간하는 '트렌드 코리아'를 통해 디자인계에 끼친 영향을 인정받아 이번 아시아 디자인 프라이즈, 심사위원상의 영광을 안았다.
The Grand Prize trophy, unveiled for the first time at the Asia Design Prize 2024, also garnered significant attention from the audience. The next Asia Design Prize ceremony is scheduled to take place at the five-star luxury hotel, "Four Seasons," under the principle of "Fair Reviews Only." It aims to explore the future of design with the goal of becoming the world's highest standard of design awards.
